Kotatieva Resort invites you to experience the magic of the Arctic in a serene forest setting just 10 km from Rovaniemi. Spend a night in your own privacy in our cozy cabins, glide through snowy landscapes on our unique 500m ice skating trail, surrounded by nature and peaceful silence, enjoy the warmth of a original finnish wood heated sauna or have a delicious dinner in our log restaurant.
This is winter fun for all ages – to be enjoyed together, in your own rhythm.

Activities at Kotatieva
During the day, you can enjoy natural ice skating on our forest tracks, try snow slides, spend time by the fire, and meet our lovely reindeer. Reindeer rides are available to our park visitors every day from 11 AM to 3 PM, offering a peaceful sleigh ride through the snowy forest.
In the evenings, the park transforms into a winter wonderland with lights, candles, and a magical skating experience under the night sky.
A hidden gem
Kotatieva is a hidden gem surrounded by snowy forests, just 15 minutes from Rovaniemi city center. Here you can spend a perfect winter day filled with unique experiences — skating on natural ice, relaxing by the fire, enjoying delicious food, and exploring the magic of Lapland.
We are open daily 10 am – 5 pm, from December to March.
We are open daily from December to March, offering a full day of activities for all ages. In the evening, the atmosphere transforms into something truly magical with our Aurora Skating, starting from 7 PM under the stars and, if you’re lucky, the northern lights.
Our restaurant and cozy cabins are open from mid-November until the end of March, offering the perfect place to enjoy local flavors and the peacefulness of the Arctic nature.
Getting to Kotatieva
You can easily reach us by car, or take advantage of our free shuttle bus service from Rovaniemi city center via Santa Claus Village to Kotatieva. The return is in the afternoon, following the same route back.

From Rovaniemi city center → Santa Claus Village → Kotatieva:
- Departs from City → 10:00 AM, from SCV → 10:15 AM
- Departs from City → 11:00 AM, from SCV → 11:15 AM
- Departs from City → 12:00 PM, from SCV → 12:15 PM
Return from Kotatieva → Santa Claus Village → City:
- Departs from Kotatieva → 2:30 PM
- Departs from Kotatieva → 3:30 PM
- Departs from Kotatieva → 4:30 PM
